This Psalm is connected to psalm 3 and most scholars believe they were written as a pair. We have a morning Psalm and now a matching evening Psalm. Note: This is a song to be sung. David wrote it for the choir master to be sung in the temple in Jerusalem. However, when David wrote this Psalm he wasn’t in Jerusalem where the King should be, instead, he was on the run for his life. Note “Selah” is musical term that might mean pause. Has anyone or anything kept you awake at night while you thought about it over and over? Think carefully about this. It is a common experience. Sometime we are mad at a brother or sister who did something that was not fair. Sometimes we are mad at our parents. Sometimes someone said something about us that just was not true. We think about it over and over and we cannot sleep. This is called stewing or worrying over something. When we stew over something it can make it hard to sleep. Why do you think we do this? | I think we do that because we need to be relaxed to fall asleep and when you are angry, you're not relaxed Add Comment |
